What the FBL4000 Pro is: A Premium Optical Turnstile with Retracting Glass Barriers and Extended Enclosure
A flap barrier moves more people per minute than any other entrance type ZKTeco publishes figures for — 42 with RFID cards against a tripod's 30 — and the retracting flaps disappear into the pedestal when open, which is why they suit a lobby.
They are also four times the weight of a tripod and need considerably more floor space. The footprint on the FBL2000 series is 1200 by 1150 millimetres per lane.
Key features
42 per minute with RFID — the highest in the ZKTeco pedestrian range — And 35 with fingerprint, 23 with vein, 11 with face recognition. That last figure is the one that ruins projects: a lane rated at 42 behind a face terminal runs at 11.
Barriers retract upward, and the capacitor board makes that automatic — On power loss, the flaps pull back into the pedestal. Order the optional capacitor board. Without it, a power cut can leave the lane shut with people on the secure side.
1200 by 1150 millimetres of floor per lane — The published footprint on the FBL2000 series, at 119 kg net. Worth checking against a lobby drawing before the order, because retrofitting a flap barrier into a space designed for a tripod does not work.
LCD on the control board — Status and fault codes are readable at the unit rather than requiring a laptop, which is the difference between a ten-minute service call and an afternoon.
Sizing the entrance
Count peak-hour arrivals. Not daily headcount. A factory of 3,000 arrives across twenty minutes.
Check the credential, not just the lane. The reader is almost always the bottleneck.
Include one wide lane. Wheelchairs, trolleys, and beds do not pass a standard aperture.

FBL2000: 42/min with RFID, only 11 with face — a quarter of rated throughput. Use face for low-volume executive/visitor lanes; card or fingerprint on the main entrance.
Specify the fail-safe retraction module — it auto-opens the barriers on mains loss. Without it, a power cut can trap people behind closed flaps: a life-safety issue, not an inconvenience. In Bangladesh, that's a "when," not an "if."
ZKTeco lists the FBL2000's footprint at 1200 × 1150 mm (unit: 1150 × 300 × 1000 mm, 119 kg net). Check against the lobby drawing before ordering — a tripod-turnstile space won't fit a flap barrier.
Lane count is the one decision you can't fix later. Under-size the entrance and you get a morning queue no equipment swap will cure.
