How Does the NX-ZC510 Zone Controller Work?
Each ultrasonic sensor above a bay measures the distance to whatever is below it and lights its own indicator green or red. Up to 25 sensors daisy-chain on a network cable into the zone controller, which takes up to 50. Up to 25 zone controllers then report to a node controller over CAN at up to 1000 m. The central controller updates the aisle displays and entrance board in real time.
Where Does the Zone Controller Sit in the Guidance System?
It sits in the middle of the architecture. Sensors report to the zone controller, zone controllers report to node controllers, and node controllers report to the central controller. The same architecture scales from one floor to 31,250 bays.
