What the SLK20R is
The ZKTeco SLK20R is a desktop USB fingerprint scanner for enrolment and identity verification, supplied in Bangladesh by DigiMark Solution as the Authorized Distributor of ZKTeco.
This is an enrolment and verification device, not a door device. It connects to a computer over USB and feeds your HR, registration, banking, or visitor software. It does not control a door and has no access control interface.
Key features
- FAP 20 compliance is the specification that matters — IQS FAP 20 is a recognised image quality standard. For government, banking and any deployment where enrolled templates must be portable or auditable, a scanner without a stated compliance level is a risk you cannot quantify. Most desktop scanners sold in Bangladesh do not state one.
- Captures dry, wet, and rough fingerprints — The condition that defeats cheap optical scanners. In enrolment, this matters twice over — a poor template captured at enrolment fails at every verification afterwards, permanently.
- Live finger detection — Rejects printed images and moulded fakes at the sensor. Essential when the scanner is used for identity verification rather than only for enrolment.
- Encrypted fingerprint data output — Templates leave the device encrypted rather than as raw images. This is what makes the scanner defensible under a data protection review.

How it works
The scanner connects over USB to a computer running your enrolment or verification software. It captures the biometric image, and the SDK converts it to a template that your application stores or matches. The scanner itself holds no database — capacity, matching, and storage are all decided by the host software.
