British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB) is one of the leading multinational manufacturing companies in Bangladesh, with high daily employee movement across secured office and production areas. To improve physical security and streamline people flow, BATB implemented a modern ZKTeco flap barrier access control solution supplied and installed by Digimark Solution, an authorized ZKTeco partner in Bangladesh.

The Security Challenge at BATB
BATB needed a reliable entrance control system that could:

• Restrict access to sensitive zones using card or biometric verification
• Prevent tailgating and unauthorized entry
• Handle high traffic during peak hours and shift changes
• Offer a durable, low‑maintenance solution suitable for continuous operation
• Manual checks at gates and traditional barriers were no longer enough to meet BATB’s security and efficiency standards.

Installed Solution: ZKTeco FBL4000 Pro & FBL4200 Pro
To solve these challenges, Digimark deployed a compact two‑lane flap barrier system:

• 1 × ZKTeco FBL4000 Pro Flap Barrier – primary single lane
• 1 × ZKTeco FBL4200 Pro Flap Barrier – additional lane beside the main lane

Both units feature stainless‑steel construction and are fully integrated with BATB’s existing card/biometric access control system. The flaps open only after successful verification, and built‑in sensors help detect tailgating and unsafe movement, ensuring secure and smooth passage.

Implementation Highlights
The project included:

• Site survey and entrance layout design
• Mechanical installation of both flap barriers
• Electrical and data integration with the existing access control system
• Testing under real traffic conditions and basic training for security staff
• Installation was completed with minimal disruption to daily operations.
