How it works
The reader sits at the door and captures the credential. It sends the identifier to the controller over its communication interface ([supply]). The controller checks the identifier against its user database and access rules, then energises or releases the lock. Feedback — the LED and buzzer on the reader — reflects the controller's decision, not merely that a credential was read.
