NexaKey NX-V543-FW AI Face Recognition Access Control Overview

The NexaKey NX-V543-FW is a 4.3-inch AI dynamic face recognition access control and time attendance terminal from the VERO 5 series. It recognises a face in under 0.2 seconds at 0.5 to 2.5 metres and supports face, fingerprint, 125 kHz EM card, password, and QR code verification.

The door model. Compact 4.3-inch body and the fuller access control interface — fire alarm input, doorbell, and anti-passback built in.

Key features

  • Full access control I/O — including a fire alarm input. This is what separates the VERO 5 from most terminals of its size: relay output, alarm output, dedicated fire alarm input, doorbell, door sensor, exit button, and anti-passback, plus Wiegand 26/34 in and out. The fire input matters legally — on an escape-route door the lock must release when the alarm sounds, and a terminal without that input cannot do it without extra hardware.
  • Anti-passback built into the device — Anti-passback stops one credential being used twice in the same direction — the standard defence against a card passed back through a fence or one face admitting a colleague. Most terminals this size leave it to a controller. Having it on board means a single-door installation gets the feature without buying a panel.
  • <0.2 seconds at 0.5–2.5 m with 99.70% published accuracy — The recognition engine is identical to the flagship VERO 7 — same speed, same range, same five-at-once capability. The 99.70% figure is published, which most competing datasheets at this price omit entirely. Worth asking for on anything you compare against.
  • Dual camera with a 2MP infrared live channel — 2MP colour on a 1/2.9″ sensor at 75° FOV with WDR, paired with a 2MP infrared live camera. Infrared rejects printed photographs and video, and it is what allows recognition in a dark corridor.
  • Attendance reports straight to a USB flash drive — Plug a U-disk into the Type-A port and take the report away. No PC, no network, no software. For a small office or a site with no IT support, this is often how the system actually gets used.
  • Compact 187.5 × 87.5 mm body — Considerably smaller than the 8-inch VERO 7. That matters on a narrow door frame, a glass-door mullion or a lift lobby where a large terminal would not fit or would look wrong.
  • Mask detection and QR visitor access — Detects whether a mask is worn and still recognises the face with one on — for hospitals, clean rooms and food production. Visitors scan a QR code through the camera with no enrolment required.
  • Free SDK and four documented API methodsHTTP/HTTPS, MQTT/MQTTS, WebSocket and Webserver, plus a free SDK. MQTT pushes events in real time rather than on a polling schedule.

What else you need for a working Kit

A single device is only part of a complete security or automation setup. Most projects need matching accessories, software and power components, chosen according to your site and requirements. You can start with a basic use case and upgrade later by adding the recommended supporting devices.

Price on request. Dealer, project, and tender rates differ, so we quote against your requirement rather than publishing one figure. For context, face recognition terminals in Bangladesh run from around ৳15,000 for entry-level units to ৳70,000 and above for large-screen IP65 models with multi-modal verification. WhatsApp +880 1979-234342 with your entry count.

Under 0.2 seconds, at 0.5 to 2.5 metres — adjustable.
That range is what makes it dynamic rather than static: people are recognised while walking toward the terminal instead of stopping to pose. It also recognises up to 5 people simultaneously.

No. A 2MP infrared live camera sits alongside the colour camera, and the datasheet states that live face detection rejects photographs and video. A printed photo and a phone screen look entirely different under infrared than a living face does — and the same infrared channel is what allows recognition in complete darkness.

Yes. It detects whether a mask is worn and still recognises the face with one on. The platform is documented as working through glasses, makeup, moustaches, and veils.

Yes. It is rated for normal light, strong light, dark environments, and backlight, using wide dynamic range with automatic LED and dual-infrared fill lighting. Backlight is the most common real-world failure point for face terminals, so it is worth confirming in anything you compare this against.
