What the AC-1100 is
The VIRDI AC-1100 is a multi-smart card access terminal with a camera, Bluetooth mobile key, and VoIP, supplied in Bangladesh by DigiMark Solution as the exclusive distributor of VIRDI.
A reader is not a controller. It captures a credential and passes it to an access control panel or terminal, which holds the user database and drives the lock. If you need a device that opens a door on its own, you need a standalone terminal instead. We say this plainly because ordering a reader expecting a working door is the most common mistake in this category.
Key features
- This is a card terminal — and that is a deliberate choice, not a limitation — VIRDI classifies the AC-1100 under Card Terminals, alongside the VS-R20D, rather than under biometric terminals. There is no fingerprint sensor. Where a site wants card and mobile credentials without biometric enrolment — tenant buildings, shared offices, visitor-heavy sites — that is exactly the right specification.
- Bluetooth mobile key turns the phone into the credential — No card to issue, lose, or replace. For a serviced office or a residential building with changing tenants, issuing and revoking access from software rather than physically handing out cards changes how the building is run.
- Camera with face detection and perception — Not face recognition for access — detection and perception, which supports visual verification and event capture. Worth being precise about: it records who presented a credential; it does not authenticate by face.
- VoIP support means it doubles as an intercom — A visitor at the door can call reception through the same unit. That removes a separate intercom panel from the door, which matters on a narrow entrance.

How it works
The reader sits at the door and captures the credential. It sends the identifier to the controller over its communication interface ([confirm — TCP/IP, RS-485 and Wiegand expected]). The controller checks the identifier against its user database and access rules, then energises or releases the lock. Feedback — the LED and buzzer on the reader — reflects the controller's decision, not merely that a credential was read.
